Event details
The Barony of Carillion has stepped forward to answer the call to War and will host the Southern Region war camp Year VII.  Located less then 10 minuets from exit 8 on the NJ Turnpike, there will be ample room for activities and camping.

We will be having field, bridges and wall battle with siege and combat archery as it will occur at the war.  We will be having a variety of rapier activities to suit not only preparation for the war but the interest of the rapier community as well.  Archery shoots for all the war points including the clout will be available.  We will also be providing targets for the throwing weapons community, youth marshals will be running a youth tourney and melees (TBD), and we have tapped several very talented artisans to teach classes.  Schedules will be posted, as we get closer to the event.

A please bring 12 hand pies made from a period recipe, please bring documentation.  Should be made ahead, brought to SRWC ready to eat.

Bardic:

The Tales of Light and Dark - Saturday 11AM-1PM

Oye!  Come all ye silvered-tongued bards, and bring your war songs with you and try your latest out on a circle of kinsfolk and inviting ears.  Bring forward your songs of light, encouraging and honoring our brave warriors of the East as well, or taunting and crushing the morale of our enemies.  Also bring forth your dark tales that happen after the sun sets, be it tales of festivity, merriment or simply “this will make an excellent story” events and situations.

A few housekeeping rules to be mindful of:  Each piece performed should be no longer than four to five minutes, regardless of the format (song, poem, story, etc); all songs should be mindful of a PG audience (for the daytime bardic, see below for evening bardic); a signup sheet will be available at the start of the bardic session, you can enter a piece per round, which will vary in length by the amount of performers available.  You may sign up to perform one piece per round; ice water with lemon will be provided by the hosts, and if the facilities allow for it, hot water and tea as well.  We ask that if you are dismissing yourself from the circle, that you do so in between performances.  It is recommended to bring a comfy chair with you.

Fire Pit Bardic - 9PM-Whenever the last performer calls it quits (Dark)

Held in the evening hours once the sun has completed scorching the lands for the day, we will host a no-holds bard (spelling puns are fun!) bardic circle.  All of the previous housekeeping rules apply, except for one - the PG rating goes away.  Sign-up sheets will be available with multiple rounds.  Legend has it that you can’t make a Carillonite blush, so bring your raunchiest tales and tunes!

Archery Range:
Will be available all day Saturday.  Full Pennsic practice will be available.

POOL:
The pool will be open after 1:00PM for most of the afternoon.  Please check with troll for the precise time it will be open.

Fencing:

To dust the rust off of some weapons forms and to encourage
authorizations, The Barony of Carillion will be holding a Challenge of
Arms bear pit tournament.  Combatants will start with single and work
their way through forms that they are authorized in.  The order will go
single, dagger, buckler/rigid, case, two-hander, cloak/soft.  Once a
combatant has been defeated they will move to the next weapons form.  If a combatant isn’t authorized in a particular form, that form will not be offered for them to compete with.  Example:  if a combatant has 4 out of the 6 authorizations they have 4 deaths before they are out of the tournament.

Pennsic Rapier Champions Qualifier Tournament
Want to make it on the Pennsic Rapier Champions Team? Now's your chance!
One of a series of tournaments across several events, the results from this will help determine the makeup of this year's team.  (Though anyone can fight in the tournament, you'll be asked if you plan on attending Pennsic and want to make the team.) Double elimination.  Bring your best weapon form.  Each pass will be fought once, though double-kills will be refought so as to make the tournament as clean as possible.  Nothing strange or fancy here.  Note that we have fewer champs slots this year than most years, so winning a tournament does not guarantee a spot on the team.

Throwing Weapons:
Will be available all day Saturday.

Heavy Fighting:
Woods!  Nothing going on here!  Leave the wood and start the march across the meadows.

Now that's a rough trip! 

Fight your way through the fields until you get to the bridge!  Once you have fought your way over the bridge you find yourself stopped by a wall and must fight your way past the wall!

Kingdom A&S Consultation Table
This is a chance for artisans to get feedback on their A&S projects & documentation from those familiar with the process of judging A&S.  We are happy to talk informally with you about your project, offering our general thoughts and advice, or, we can provide you with a more structured sample walk-through of your project based on the latest draft of the kingdom A&S championship rubric. 
If you cannot chat during the scheduled time at the event (TBD), but wish feedback, please e-mail Mistress Elysabeth Underhill (Lissa) at laralu@gmail.com, and we will arrange another time to talk at the event.  While walk-ups are most welcome, if you know you are interested in a consultation, please feel free to e-mail Lissa ahead of time to help with scheduling.

Children's craft hour with Lady Margried,
All ages are welcome to come and enjoy.  We will be supporting our fighters for the Kingdom of the East by decorating cardboard swords and shields.  Children ages 8 and older can also create Viking long boats to help sail us to our victory.  I bring the materials, you bring the littles
Craft time will be 11:30am - 12:30pmish.

A Trio of Trios!!  (with a bit extra) A day board prepared from “The Opera of Bartolomeo Scappi” (pub.  1570).

Fresh cut fruit & vegetables
A trio of fritters:
– Chicken with cheese, sugar, eggs, and cinnamon
– Rice cooked in broth, with sugar, eggs, cheese, and flour
– Chickpea with chestnuts, walnuts, sugar, various spices, white wine, rosewater, and fresh herbs, sprinkles with sugar and cinnamon.
A trio of Crostatas (similar to tarts)
– Prosciutto soaked in white wine and sugar, combined with cheese, spices, herbs, and raisins.
– Fresh mushrooms with cheese, mint & marjoram, verjuice, orange juice, butter and possibly marrow, topped with sugar and spices.
A fruit Crostata – TBD, based on fruit availability.
Roasted Chicken served with a Trio of Sauces
– Garlic Sauce with broth, breadcrumbs, ginger, walnuts & almonds
– Almond Sauce with breadcrumbs, verjuice, limejuice, ginger, and sugar.
– Cherry Sauce with white wine, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.

Site Rules:
The site is dry.  Violators will be expelled from the site.  If you have any site related questions please contact the site autocrat.  Day board will be available.  No feast is planned.  There is also a wide variety of restaurants within 10 minuets drive of the site, see the provided list.  Local dining and shopping information will be provided at the troll.

Camping Rules:
Camp only in designated areas.  Use existing fire pits or portable fire pits supplied by the camp.  No ground fires outside of an approved fire pit.  All fires must be attended and have properly filled fire buckets near the fire pit.  Firewood will be available from the camp at a cost, no cutting of live trees.  No liquid fuel or liquid fuel devices.  Motor vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas.  If you have special needs please contact the site autocrat.  At the end of the event fire pits must be cleaned and all trash must be sorted into dumpsters located in the parking lot. 

No cars in the camping area or on the battle field!  Pickup and drop off locations will be posted.  Cars parked anywhere other than an authorized parking lot will be towed at the owner’s expense. 

No pets are allowed.  Service animals are permitted; please contact the autocrat in advance.  No exceptions!

Directions:
From the North and South find your best route to the New Jersey Turnpike (Interstate-95 a toll will apply).  Take exit #8 (Hightstown/Freehold) Route 33, bear right onto Route 33 East for 6.2 miles.  Make a left turn using the jug handle to cross over Route 33 onto County Route 527A for .04 miles.  Turn right onto LaValley Drive.  From the East, find your best route to Route 33 Westbound.  Turn right on Route 527A North after the Mobil station (sign posted on traffic light at intersection says 527/Iron Ore Road) for .04 miles.  Turn right on to LaValley Drive.  Quail Hill signs are posted.

 
Event Fees
Site : Adults and Children $17.00
Adults and Children discounted to $12.00 for members. 
Children under 8 years of age free
Limited cabin space is available for $5 per person.

Mail in deadline 4 weeks prior to event.

Barony of Carillion Event Refund Policy:
Individuals requesting event pre-registration refunds must contact the Autocrat and/or Reservations Clerk for that event in some manner (by email, in writing, or a phone call), prior to the start of the event(that morning inclusive).
A Refund Request Form is to be filled out by the Autocrat, Reservationist, and the Requestor (if possible).
Partial refunds for a group reservation where one or more individuals were unable to attend can be issued:  i.e, one check sent in with reservations for four people and one or more will not be attending.
No refunds will be issued if the event does not make a profit.
NO CASH REFUNDS!
Any refunds will be issued in the form of a check drawn on the Barony of Carillion checking account.  Refund checks will not be issued until the event books have been closed.
Post event refund requests will be considered on an individual basis and only in extreme or emergency circumstances, subject to approval by the Autocrat, Baronial Exchequer, and the Baronial Senechal.
All reservation checks are to be written to:  SCA-NJ inc.,- Barony of Carillion and be written in black or blue ink only.

Feast: No Feast is scheduled.
