Black Rose Ball 40th Anniversary Celebration TRM will be in attendance Event date: March 3rd, 2017 - March 5th, 2017
Hosted by Barony of the Bridge - South Kingstown, RI
Event Last Modified: January 11th, 2017

Event details
Black Rose Ball is turning 40, and the Barony of the Bridge is planning a fitting celebration.  In honor of this momentous occasion, we are throwing a weekend long party.  Because it is the ball’s ruby anniversary, the theme for the ball is red and black.

We will start on Friday evening with informal dancing and tavern games, along with a light repast and refreshments.  Dances will be taught and called as necessary, and dancing will continue as long as there are people who want to dance.

Saturday breakfast for weekend guests will start at 8:00 AM.

Gate for Saturday-only guests opens at 10:00 AM.

Throughout the day on Saturday there will be food and revelry in the tavern hall, there will be music and dancing in the dance hall, and there will be entertainment provided by special guests, including Vagando Stolti.

During the day on Saturday we will have a casual dance party, with dances taught and called as necessary.  Food will be available for purchase from the tavern.

Following the dance party will be the court of her majesty Anna Tarragon, Queen of the East along with the court of their excellencies Ulric and Clothilde von der Insel, Baron and Baroness of the Bridge.

After court there will be time to enjoy a meal from the tavern and time, for those inclined, to dress in their finery for the ball.  This year’s theme is red and black in honor of the ball’s ruby anniversary.

The ball will commence after dinner and will feature three sets of dancing with themed dance lists chosen by the musicians.  There will be dances from the history of the ball as well as some surprises in the dance list.  All dances will be taught and called as necessary.

Informal dancing will continue after the ball, for as long as we can remain upright.

Sunday breakfast for weekend guests will start at 8:00 AM.

Weekend guests will have a bunk in a shared bunkhouse.  The bunkhouse is attached to the dance hall.  It is in a real building with real heating, not in a plywood cabin.  If you are staying for the weekend, you should bring a sleeping bag or bedding and a pillow.

There are a limited number of bunks, so make sure to send in your reservation early.

Please remember to bring feast gear.
